Free Head Start Program- Metropolitan Child Services Inc.

Metropolitan Child Services Inc./MCS is our non-profit
organization providing services for families and children who qualify for Head
Start.  Head Start is a federally funded program primarily low income children ages 3-5 yrs old and is income eligible according to the 2012 Federal Poverty Guidelines.
Head Start uses the 100% income level. At least 90% of families enrolled must meet federal income guidelines.
Head Start will provide services to a family with an age eligible child with a
diagnosed disability. At least 10% of the funded enrollment must include
children with a diagnosed disability. Our goal is to work toward building a
brighter future for our children and families giving them a Head Start on the
road of success.

Enrolling in our Head Start Program will provide everlasting
changes for all families within our community. We offer the following services:

-Education and Early Childhood Development

-Special Needs Services

-Family Partnerships (Resource & Referral)

-Parent Education

-Child Health and Safety, Child

-Nutrition, Child Mental Health

-Program Governance

Thanks to our continued funding from the Child and Adult Care Food programhttp://www.fns.usda.gov/cnd/care/ – CACFP we are able to provide 3 FREE meals per day for all of our children.

As a Head Start staff  we ensure that we do everything possible to meet the needs of our families. Our strong support guides families through setting and achieving family and individual goals, assisting families with obtaining permanent housing and other necessities.

Staff support is only one aspect of the huge support system we offer. Metropolitan Child Services Inc. has ongoing and well-established linkages with many organizations within the community. Our long standing relationships has enabled us to obtain free food, medical services,parent development workshops, and assistance in other areas where we see a need isn’t being met for the families.
