History:
Where we came from
Vernon Avenue Children’s School/Metropolitan Child Services, has been in operation since September 5, 2001. It was once a deserted open lot that evolved into a beautiful building. Our school is located on 386 Vernon Avenue between Lewis Avenue and Stuyvesant Avenue in Bedford Stuyvesant Brooklyn.
Where we are today:
Our program is a well established school in a culturally diverse community. We are fortunate to be surrounded by families from Mexico, Honduras, West Africa, Asia, Dominican Republic as well as African-American families.
VACS/MCS has 12 classrooms, an indoor sensory therapy room and an outdoor playground on school grounds (fenced for safety)
