First off I just want to start off by saying my son’s teacher is an amazing teacher. She goes beyond the extra mile. I fall short of words to express how grateful we are for her. My son Alex entered Vernon Ave. Children’s School with almost no vocabulary. As a mother I was scared.
Vernon Ave. Children’s School, and the staff were also amazing. I was always greeted with a warm reception every time I called and I always got answers. I could never say I had a problem with anyone.
Alex speaks very well now. Alex can express himself and let us know what he needs or wants. His teacher, was his favorite. He always talked about what she did and the songs she sang with him. He grew very close to her and wanted her even on Saturdays. Many times his teacher would call me to update me on his progress. She always encouraged me and put me at ease with my fears. She is so good with the children. I’ve seen her with the kids and the kids just love her. She has been such a big part of our life. I am thankful that my son was blessed with such an exceptional teacher.
Alex can tell me “Mom I love you,” which was something I didn’t think I would ever hear him say. I can’t repay you guys for helping my son. Thanks for your time, effort, love and dedication with my son. I will never forget you. I wish I can bring you home. From the bottom of my heart you are one of the best teachers ever. Don’t change. His Teacher is a gem. She is one in a million.
I have been a part of VACS for 10 years. All my children have attended the program from birth or at a very young age.
I have learned so much about this wonderful school. The teachers and staff are all amazing. They make the parents feel very welcome.
I love this school for so many reasons:
- Staff is always friendly and very helpful
- The school itself is very beautiful
Thank you all for all that you do! - Antonia “Netta” Douglas, Parent

To Whom It May Concern,
I would like to recommend Vernon Ave Children’s School receive funds to continue their UPK program. I have been an involved parent with Vernon Ave Children’s School since 2009 during this time which both of daughters have attended the UPK educational program.
VACS is a valuable asset to the children and their families in our community. They offer an environment that allows social, cultural, and educational growth for our youngsters. The administrators and educators form great parent-teacher relationships in order to identify weaknesses, encourage strengths, and set goals to prepare our children for Kindergarten education. I personally award VACS for the successes my oldest daughter Jania, who is 7 yrs.old, has achieved in her elementary studies. I believe that it was VACS who set the ground work in her early childhood education that gave her the confidence and tools to succeed. My youngest daughter Desiree is currently enrolled in the UPK program and with months away from graduation she has already meet her educational-readiness goals for Kindergarten, She is still excelling!!
Funding for Vernon Avenue Children’s School UPK program is necessary and a great contribution to the youth in our neighborhoods. I can only recommend that you continue to support our organizational family and allow VACS to continue their on-going efforts to improve and help jump start our kid’s future!
Regards,

“I am very pleased that Mia’Rose and Isaiah Walker are attending this daycare and in this class. I get daily updates about my children. When they come home they tell me everything they learn verbal and physically. They are so happy. I love how they potty train the children and teach them how to wash their hands. If I could rate the schools performance on a 1-10, I would definitely give you a “10.” - Patrice Pearson, Parent
